Information we collect

When you email us, we receive the email address, name or other contact details you provide, your message and any relevant correspondence.

When you visit our website, technical information may be processed to deliver and protect the website. This may include your IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, request times and security or operational events.

Our current website does not use a contact submission form or marketing subscription form.

Why we use your information

Responding to enquiries. We use information voluntarily supplied in ordinary business emails to understand, manage and respond to enquiries. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR. Our legitimate interest is maintaining relevant business correspondence with people who contact us.

Operating and protecting the website. Technical request information may be processed to deliver website content, maintain availability, investigate problems and protect against malicious activity. Where personal data is involved, our lawful basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR. Our legitimate interests are delivering an available, reliable website and protecting it against malicious activity, subject to necessity and a balance with your rights and interests.

Legal obligations. Where necessary, we process information to comply with applicable legal requirements, including responding to valid data-protection requests and complaints. Our lawful basis for this processing is legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR.

Email enquiries and future updates

Company email correspondence is handled using Google Workspace.

Sending us an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing communications.

We do not currently operate a marketing mailing list. If we introduce occasional FRACTAL HORIZON updates, we will use a separate, voluntary opt-in process and provide a straightforward way to unsubscribe.

If you send information that is unusually sensitive or requires special protection, we will assess the appropriate handling and lawful basis separately.

Website technology and cookies

Cloudflare provides website delivery, security and operational monitoring services.

Cloudflare's optional browser-based Web Analytics service is currently disabled. We do not currently use its Real User Measurements (RUM) beacon for visitor analytics.

Cloudflare security functionality may use cookies in particular circumstances, including security challenges or malicious-traffic protection. These technologies are separate from the disabled Web Analytics service.

We review the privacy requirements of technologies used on our website and will update our disclosures and provide appropriate choices where necessary.

Who receives information

We use Google Workspace to manage company correspondence and Cloudflare to provide website infrastructure, security and operational services.

These providers may process relevant information under their applicable service and data-protection arrangements.

We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to respond to a valid legal request.

Ordinary enquiries are not automatically enrolled in marketing.

How long we keep information

We keep ordinary business enquiries and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage an ongoing relationship or meet applicable recordkeeping and legal obligations.

We periodically review whether continued retention is necessary as our circumstances evolve. Information that is no longer needed will be deleted or, where appropriate, anonymised, subject to applicable obligations.

Technical website information is processed and retained according to the relevant operational, security and diagnostic purposes and applicable service-provider arrangements. Different categories of technical information may have different retention periods.

International processing

Google Workspace and Cloudflare operate international services. Personal information handled through these services may be transferred to, or accessed from, countries outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data protection law applies to an international transfer, the relevant protections depend on the recipient, destination and services involved. These may include UK adequacy regulations or recognised contractual safeguards. You can email privacy@fractalhorizon.com for further information about the arrangements relevant to your information and how to obtain a copy of applicable safeguards.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information or restrict its use. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

Data portability applies to automated processing based on consent or contract. It does not apply to the legitimate-interests or legal-obligation processing described in this notice.

Your right to object

You have the right to object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests, for reasons relating to your particular situation. To object, email privacy@fractalhorizon.com.

Following an objection, we must stop that processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
